Words With Witte is back!! Today's guest is Chris Chavez who is living out his childhood goal of being a Sports Illustrated writer. Before attending college, Chavez was working as a columnist for the Bleacher Report covering college basketball. We discuss what he learned about the industry with his first job and what led to him wanting to cover the sport of running. In 2017, Chavez founded Citius Mag after finding a white space in the industry. Chavez and his team create relatable running content and it's also where Chavez hosts a podcast talking to the stars, their agents, and coaches in track and field. Chavez shares why reading has had an impact on his writing career, why he has pivoted the format in which he tells stories, and a peek into how he prepares for Olympic coverage. Chavez tells you who he thinks will be the track and field stars in Tokyo this summer and the shoes that are changing the game!
